I was looking for a 's art deco style lighter for historical reenacting and found this. It's exactly what I was looking for. The Imco lighter went into production in in Austria and remained in production until , so these may be the last of them. Get one while you can. Works perfectly even in high winds, and the cool styling is definitely an attention getter.
I bought this, filled with Naphtha, adjusted the wick, tried to fray the wick for more surface area, tried to angle it towards the flint, nothing seems to work. This is not a reliable lighter. It takes on average tries to get it to light. Once lit, it seems to relight just fine. Then again, sometimes it doesn't.
There doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason for why it'll light easily or, like just now, didn't light at all after 20 tries. Either way the flint is almost used up from trying so many times. After 7 months of every-day use, it still lights. Holds fluid at least twice as long as a Zippo. Requires no tools to change flint; it couldn't be easier.
And you can load two flints at once. The candle feature is very useful, just flick open and pull it out. Made of stamped stainless steel, so it's tough as hell and doesn't rust or tarnish. This is the best and last lighter you will ever buy. The most difficult thing about it is fighting the temptation to order another one.
It's that good. As the headline states I was not expecting much from his product in comparison to the real thing but it's surprisingly good, has most all of the features of the real thing and for the price it is a good stand in for the real thing. One person found this helpful. Lighter works every time.
Feels like quality even though it's not made in Austria. Will update if any problems arrive, but it feels like a tank. Will be purchasing a couple more. Would recommend. Fantastic lighter. Holds its fluid much longer than a Zippo. If it were, I'd give it a 5 stars from past experience. It seems well made and a good reproduction of the originals. I hope this one does as well.
These are great lighters and, in my opinion, superior to Zippos. Being able to pull the fuel barrel to use as a match once lit is great for pipes, lighting stoves, fires etc. If this ends up being junk, I'll come back and edit this review.

Can anyone help? I'm looking for the exact same model in these pics. Joined: Dec 13, Messages: Likes Received: I have a couple of them, and they are pretty nice, but I still prefer my zippo. I had heard before I got one that if you don't open them the fuel doesn't evaporate out, or at least MUCH slower than it does in a zippo, but I did not notice any difference in how long before it dried up, about a week and it dried up.
If it did stay filled longer, I'd probably switch over to it, but since it doesn't, I like playing with my zippo more. Looks like these guys have a couple left. I lost my original and went to amazon to find a new one. The ad pics never showed the stars. I know the triplex's had a few variations. Just looking at the internal pics there seem to be a few variations from pics I find online. I didn't know it at the time either but this came from china.
Not in original packaging, but repackaged nicely in mylar bag with extra flints and wick. Joined: Sep 3, Messages: 2, Likes Received: 15, Mine have it. No it doesn't I noticed that too reading around.
