My basic opinion is that the sound is excellent movie AND CD , but the picture quality isn't the best, and is in fact bettered by budget Toshiba players such as the SD CD sound is remarkably good though I think the general comment of all the marantz players is that their sound quality is much better than the average, but the picture quality is just a good ok rather than anything special.
